The war in the Middle East is already having a negative impact on the summer tourist season in Montenegro.
This was stated by the director of the "Ami" hotel, Željko Cicović, on the show Reflektor on Television Vijesti, reminding that until the outbreak of the conflict, four planes landed from Tel Aviv daily and that it was planned that guests from Israel would achieve around 200.000 overnight stays.
"At the moment, an estimate from colleagues from travel agencies with whom we are in constant contact due to this situation is that there are currently around 1.000 guests from Israel staying in Montenegro who were unable to return. However, this past week there may have been a small drop in the number of reservations, which should increase by some 30, 40 percent. They definitely canceled the entire month of June. Four planes were landing daily... and we were supposed to achieve some 200.000 overnight stays from Israel. We are now at about a third, maybe we will easily cover July and the peak season, but we will only feel it in September, because they booked September, October, until November 15. So regardless of expectations, I think we don't have any great information at the moment," said Cicović.
