Of the 500 available places offered this year by Podgorica's Slobodan Škerović High School, around 450 have been applied for so far.
"Depending on the specialization, in some there are still a significant or conditionally significant number of places compared to those who applied, and in general it is around 50 or slightly more, while in this philological program there are about ten places, and in mathematics a few more candidates can be accepted, possibly if they meet the requirements, because we have 24 applications for that specialization so far. Interest in the sports high school has exceeded the required 28, now that number is or is currently double that number or 58," said the acting (acting) director of the "Slobodan Škerović" High School, Zoran Pejović.
When asked whether there is a possibility of expanding the ranking list for those who do not enroll in the Podgorica gymnasium within this deadline, Pejović replied that the school has the good will to accept all those who want and are worthy. He explained that this is a decision by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.
"It does not depend on us. This will probably be resolved later in agreement with the Ministry, in accordance with the situation and enrollment in other schools, in a way that is best for everyone. So, any kind of promise in that sense would mean wasting time or postponing the decision, and in some situations that may be inconvenient for them, and yet the decision is, not to mention, a risk for the students and their parents, who will have to think carefully about what to do next," he said.
Pejović said that the final rankings will be published in the middle of next week.
"Let's say the middle of next week, I don't have the exact date in mind right now, but the final list, or ranking list, will be available in the middle of next week, and we will publish it daily," explained Pejović.
The competition for enrollment in the first grade of secondary schools lasts today and tomorrow until 15 p.m., after which schools are obliged to publish preliminary ranking lists, which parents or guardians can appeal within 3 days.
