In the Podgorica settlement of Gornja Gorica, locals have been complaining for months about unpleasant odors that they claim come from the facility of the company "Voda u kršu", where food is prepared.
In addition, they claim that the company uses private driveways and parks vehicles on their properties.
The company, however, responds that they operate in accordance with the law, that they have all the necessary permits, and that this was also determined by the competent inspectorates when they inspected them.
Branka Radovanović, like most Podgorica residents, cannot go out onto her terrace in the evening and breathe in fresh air. The reason is the daily unpleasant smells coming from the nearby restaurant "Voda u kršu", where food is prepared and catered.
"I can't open the balcony door to breathe. I use an inhaler three to four times a day," Radovanović pointed out.
She's not the only one complaining about unpleasant odors.
Residents of this part of Gornja Gorica point out that unpleasant odors disrupt their daily lives.
"You can't open the window, you can't dry the laundry," said Lela Šćepanović.
"Since they came, I haven't been able to pick grapes here. My fruit trees are drying up. So, over three, four, 5, 6 of my fruit trees have dried up," said Ranko Raičević.
On the other hand, the company, which has been operating in Gornja Gorica since 2019, claims that the facility was built in accordance with all regulations, and that they have good relations with most neighbors. They emphasize that they only work from 13 a.m. to XNUMX p.m.
"The facility itself, as well as the operations within it, do not create unpleasant odors that could affect the environment or disturb neighbors. The facility has all the necessary permits and documentation for conducting catering activities. This is supported by numerous reports from the competent inspections that have been on the ground several times after reports from Mr. Ranko," said the company "Voda u kršu".
The disputes do not end there. Raičević claims that they are using his private road to access the building without permission, while Šćepanović complains that they are parking on her property.
"They should have gotten my consent. I never gave it, nor did they ask me because that was power and force at the time, so they didn't ask anyone," Raičević said.
"The trucks from the supply and the transport are where my property is, so they are blocking the road, you can't call a taxi, the ambulance can't pass if those trucks are there, without going through my property," said Šćepanović.
However, the company says that these complaints are also unfounded, because, as they state, they purchased the land they work on from Raičević, and use their own parking lot.
"It is the only road that allows access to our facility and other facilities, and everyone uses that road. We own our parking lot within our facility, we do not use anyone else's property, and we truly have no intention of endangering or usurping anyone's property in any way," the company "Voda u kršu" said.
While both sides are citing the law, locals are announcing that they will block the road near the facility if the authorities do not help resolve the situation within the next seven days.
