With increased security measures, marijuana, seized in police operations, was removed from the Podgorica High Court depot this morning and moved to another location.
Two streets were blocked during the transport, reports Television Vijesti.
According to the latest available information, the High Court depot contained around nine tons of seized drugs - seven tons of marijuana and two tons of cocaine, which are being used as evidence in court proceedings.
Due to security and technical limitations in the courts, it has been announced that a new system will be introduced under which drug samples will be taken, after which the majority will be destroyed, thus preventing the years-long accumulation of seized narcotics in court basements.
A few years ago, a tunnel was discovered that was dug to the court depot, and a court case is underway to determine who was behind the digging of the tunnel and what the thieves' target was.
