Former Minister of Spatial Planning and Urbanism, MP for the Serbian Parliament Ana Novaković Đurović and biologist Darko Saveljić said that the Government adopted the Spatial Plan on June 12th, and that the Environmental Protection Agency adopted the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment Report only yesterday.
They stated in the Reflektor show on Vijesti Television that the procedure was violated and that the Spatial Plan as adopted tomorrow cannot be adopted.
"On June 12, the Government adopts the Spatial Plan without waiting for approval or rejection from the Agency. So the document is adopted outside the procedure and submitted to Parliament. And now we have a document called the Strategic Impact Assessment, which is 600 pages long, and we have the Spatial Plan, which is 500 pages long. It says that your spatial plan is not good, that you need to correct it and we cannot correct it. Tomorrow someone will vote for something that is not legal," said Saveljić.
Novaković Đurović said that it is unreal that the communication between the Ministry and the Agencies is "such that we are receiving completely contradictory information at the Committee today."
"Now it's clear. Without the report, the Spatial Plan could not have been approved by the Government, and we cannot comment on this document without a statement or insight into that report," said Novaković Đurović.
