The Parliamentary Committee on Economy will consider tomorrow the proposal for a new Law on Games of Chance, about which organizers have expressed "serious concern".

They claim that instead of the previous concession model, which has functioned successfully for many years, a step backwards is being taken and a model of approval for games of chance is being introduced, as a unilateral administrative act of the Ministry of Finance, which leaves organizers at the mercy of potentially selective decisions by the state authority, as as many as 50 different reasons for revoking approval have been proposed.

At the same time, the bill prohibits advertising of games of chance in the media, except from 22 pm to 6 am, as well as in sports sections of newspapers and portals, with the aim of protecting minors.

Economic analyst and journalist Predrag Zečević believes that the bill is discriminatory and unconstitutional, which is why, if it is adopted, he will submit an initiative for the constitutionality of this law to the Constitutional Court.
