The reconstruction of Vojislavljevića Boulevard, one of the most important roads in Podgorica, began at the end of May, and works are currently underway in the first phase, about 900 meters long.

Director of the Traffic Administration Radomir Vuksanović said in Boje jutra, on TV Vijesti, that he was satisfied with the dynamics, but also emphasized that this is a project that has been awaited for decades.

"Given that I am also a resident of Zabjelo, I am extremely pleased that after 15 to 20 years of waiting, work has finally begun on this boulevard," Vuksanović pointed out.

Vuksanović recalled that during the works they encountered problems with the relocation of electrical and water installations, because the cadastre was not precise, which led to the cables being torn. However, he explains that this part has now been resolved and that the works are progressing smoothly.

"Every project in the inner city carries such challenges. So far, we have completed the relocation of power cables, and in the coming period we also expect work on water installations. Expropriation also does not hinder the work - we have two points that could be resolved by amending the plan, so as not to waste time," explained the director of the Traffic Administration.

According to the project, Vojislavljevića Boulevard will have four traffic lanes, sidewalks on both sides, bicycle paths, modern lighting, as well as a green belt and tree-lined avenues along the entire route.

According to him, the boulevard is a little over three kilometers long and is divided into three phases. The first, weather permitting, should be paved by the end of the year, after which the second and third sections will open.

The works should be fully completed by the end of 2026.
