Immediately after the tragedy in Cetinje, on January 1st of this year, the authorities promised to change the law and impose stricter penalties for possessing and carrying weapons.
Yet, it's still not there nine months later.
The Ministry of Interior is finalizing the draft Law on Weapons and Ammunition, while the Ministry of Justice is waiting for the green light from the European Commission for amendments to the Criminal Code that provide for harsher prison sentences.
The drafts are welcomed by the non-governmental sector, while hunters claim that they threaten their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
