Patients at the Podgorica Health Center are still waiting for appointments for ultrasound and X-ray examinations, despite the abolition of electronic scheduling. While free appointments for ultrasound appear at the end of November, the first free appointment for X-rays is not until July 2026.

The director of the health center, Dragana Durković Perović, pointed out on TV Vijesti's "Colors of Morning" that the problem is reflected in the insufficient number of devices and the huge number of daily referrals, but that plans are underway for the adaptation and purchase of a new X-ray device, as well as the education of selected doctors for preliminary ultrasound examinations, which should relieve waiting lists in the coming year.

"Electronic scheduling was actually a signpost that only showed us how much need there was for X-ray diagnostics in our health center, or rather in our city. We realized that while there was electronic scheduling, for example, you had appointments once every three months, which lasted two hours, in two hours there were no more appointments, so it didn't work. Because the need is much greater. We saw that in the abolition of electronic scheduling, we saw that the need is much greater. We serve 200.000 citizens, in three municipalities, Podgorica, Zeta and Tuzi, that ultrasound is free and we try to meet the needs of all patients who need an ultrasound or X-ray. As for ultrasound, we have shortened the waiting lists. And now the first available appointment is November 25th of this year," she said.
