The Committee on Political System and Judiciary has proposed three candidates for members of the Prosecutorial Council to the Parliament. The MPs will vote on two prominent lawyers and one candidate from the Bar Association, while no one has applied for the fourth missing member from the non-governmental sector.
However, for days now, there has been debate about whether certain candidates deserve the title of distinguished lawyer, due to their alleged long studies and lack of work experience in the field. The opposition is skeptical about certain professional references, while the government says it will consider all arguments before making a decision.
