While most children are just opening their eyes, four brave schoolgirls in the village of Ljevišta are already on their feet.
Viktorija, Jadranka and Mina walk together, their path passing through the silence of the village and the scent of morning. Nevena, on the other hand, walks alone. Quietly and resolutely.
Their teacher, Darka Bošković, knows very well how much work they have at home, and she understands each of them.
"Because I am attached to the children, I know their lives...I also spent my childhood working, herding livestock...attached to these children," said Bošković.
However, the teacher does not hide her concern for the future.
"When I go to Podgorica, everything seems to happen quickly...the question is whether I will lose my job next year, so maybe I will have to move too...", said Bošković.
These children carry a responsibility beyond their years, but also a warmth that you can rarely feel anywhere else. And their teacher, they say, is their greatest role model.
Eager to share everything they have with joy and togetherness, they tell their peers from the city, "Come let's play and hang out."
And so, through every step to school, taking care of the livestock, and completing schoolwork, these four girls show how demanding life in the countryside can be, but also filled with warmth and friendship. Every day, they shape a story that carries the soul of the village and the hearts of small but determined people.
