The Director of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), Aleksandar Radović, says that there is a wait of up to six months for specialist examinations at the largest healthcare institution in the country, and that the greatest demand is in cardiology, rheumatology and endocrinology.

Radović announced on "Colors of Morning" on Television Vijesti that 240 doctors have permission to work part-time in private clinics, and that he personally is not in favor of abolishing this possibility.

However, he fears a further outflow of personnel from the public to the private sector, which offers better working conditions.

"In 2025, we had one dismissal by a doctor, we have announced some, they have not yet been implemented. I have to tell you that competition with private healthcare institutions is currently unfair," Radović pointed out.

He said that with the opening of new private hospitals, an additional outflow of staff is expected.

"Certainly. I expect there will be an outflow of a certain number of doctors, a certain number of nurses. They are offered much higher salaries there than they can achieve in public healthcare. I don't think that's the only thing that matters. I think the workload in public healthcare is much greater than in private. So if one nurse has to take care of ten patients in her ward, in private healthcare she takes care of one or two," said Radović.
