The President of the Municipality of Zeta, Mihailo Asanović, has insisted that the collector in the Botun settlement should not be built, despite the fact that the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property has issued a building permit for this project.
In "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti, Asanović announced that a study by experts from the University of London will be completed in about ten days, which will confirm his position.
"I am certain that the construction of the collector at the planned location in Botun endangers the lives of citizens, because there are already houses 150 meters away, and there is a high population density about 500 meters away. We believe that the planned technology is outdated and unsafe for people living in the immediate vicinity," said Asanović.
He expects that the results of the London study will confirm that the technology of the planned collector is not safe for the environment, and that the analysis will be crucial ahead of the referendum scheduled for December 14th.
Asanović emphasizes that the referendum will be conducted completely transparently, under the supervision of the municipal commission, and its purpose is for citizens to clearly express their position on the construction of the collector.
