In the last 24 hours, Kolašin recorded almost 200 liters of rain per square meter, while Šavnik, Nikšić and Ulcinj recorded between 67 and 90 liters, causing local problems.
Meteorologist Dušan Pavićević pointed out in "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti that the red weather alert was declared "with complete right".
"Especially when 200 liters fall in just 24 hours, it can cause serious problems, although the terrain in Montenegro is somewhat favorable and the consequences are not as drastic as in other countries," he explained.
Precipitation will continue, with a decrease in intensity in the coming days, but with a possible re-intensification by the end of the week. In the north, short-term alternating rain and sleet is expected, without the formation of significant snow cover.
