The Council of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption decided to re-announce the competition for the selection of the director, with a deadline of 20 days for submitting applications, in accordance with the Law on the Prevention of Corruption.
In addition to the general requirements for working in state bodies, candidates must have ten years of work experience, of which at least five in the field of combating corruption or protecting human rights. Candidates must have at least three opinions on professional and work qualities from a company, other legal entity or entrepreneur for whom they work or have worked, or with whom they have established business cooperation.
The decision to announce a new competition followed after the previous one, launched in early April, failed. At that time, the current acting director Dušan Drakić and Milica Milutinović applied for the position of director, but neither candidate received the required majority. At the session held in May, Drakić received three votes of support, while he needed at least four votes of the Council members to be elected.
Drakić has been serving as acting director since August 2024, following the dismissal of the previous director, Jelena Perović.
