Heavy rainfall has caused major problems throughout Montenegro. Over the past 24 hours, the Operational and Communication Center 112 at the Ministry of Internal Affairs has received around 400 calls from citizens, announced Irena Bulajić, an independent advisor to the OKC, in our morning program.

The most problems caused by heavy rainfall were recorded in the municipalities of Danilovgrad and Nikšić. Ten local roads were closed in Danilovgrad, while one house was evacuated in the village of Pažići during the night. Flooded buildings were also recorded in Sekulići, as well as in the Nikšić settlements of Grebice and Duklo.

Problems were also recorded in Mojkovac, Bijelo Polje, Pljevlja, Ulcinj and Cetinje, while traffic was suspended on several routes in Mojkovac and Kolašin due to overflowing rivers and landslides.

Due to heavy rainfall, the road towards the airport was also closed, near the roundabout, where the boulevard was flooded, causing traffic on that section to be disrupted.

OKC announced that there is no water release from the Perućica HPP reservoir and that the rise in the water level of the Zeta River is solely a result of heavy rainfall.

They advised citizens to follow official announcements, to be responsible and not travel to flooded areas, to avoid closed roads, and to call 112 if necessary.
