Although meteorologists are announcing lighter rain in the first part of the day, they say it will intensify again in the afternoon, and hydrologists warn that the situation is still demanding, and that water levels are one meter from the maximum since measurements were taken.
Traffic on several main roads is still suspended due to landslides and cracked asphalt, and hydrologist Ervin Kalač called for caution on TV Vijesti's "Colors of Morning".
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama announced that due to the increased flow of the Drim River, controlled water releases from the Koman and Vau and Dejes hydroelectric power plants have begun and warned that this could lead to a sudden increase in the level of Lake Skadar, but Kalac says that the level of Lake Skadar is favorable for now and that there is no reason to worry.
"As for Danilovgrad, the situation is such that since the beginning of this period we have not had any drops in water levels at all, we had a slight stagnation yesterday, and after that we have some growth again, so the situation is quite complex and requires caution. In relation to the weather forecast, we hope that the situation will calm down in the next two days, but I say again, the issue is small basins, the water levels have already reached quite high, so we have to be careful," Kalač points out.
