Director of the Traffic Administration Radomir Vuksanović said in "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti that the claims that the landslide repair on the Mojkovac - Đurđevića Tara section was inadequate were not true, stating that the road was opened to traffic with the contractor's consent and increased supervision.

"This was not a normal test, but an extreme weather event. The gallery on Sokoloviina was built according to the project and at the time of the landslide it fulfilled its purpose. Sometimes you can't fight nature," said Vuksanović.

He added that after the weather conditions stabilize, the collapsed material will be removed and an assessment will be made of whether additional slope stabilization measures are needed, as well as a possible extension of the gallery.

Vuksanović emphasized that the most important thing was that there were no human casualties.

Speaking about the Berane - Kolašin road via Jelovica, Vuksanović said that the owner of the installation has hired contractors and that the road could be completed as soon as possible, while the final works will be carried out when weather conditions permit.

"Installing various infrastructure in the road belt is not an uncommon practice, but all participants in such projects must bear full responsibility for the safety and stability of the road," Vuksanović emphasized.

Speaking about allegations that 1,4 kilometers of pipelines have not been installed on the Tivat-Jaz boulevard, he said that at this moment there is no precise information about that part of the project, but stressed that this will not jeopardize the completion of the boulevard by the summer tourist season.

Referring to the issue of supervision of infrastructure projects, Vuksanović emphasized that the problem is not only in the formal existence of supervision, but in the way individual supervisory engineers perform their work.

"I must also point out that colleagues, other investors, both from state bodies and local governments, have very big problems, because even the supervising engineers themselves take their role lightly," he pointed out.

He added that the law also provides for sanctions for serious violations of professional obligations.

"There is an institute that can permanently revoke a license for any gross violation. All those who are engaged in such responsible work must take their role seriously," he said.
