Residents of Zeta continued to protest today against the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun, and three-hour blockades were organized on the bridge on the Sitnica River, towards Cetinje, and at the "Jezero" restaurant in Vranjina.
Those gathered reiterated that they defend the right to healthy air and clean water, adding that injustice had forced them onto the streets.
From today's blockade on the Podgorica - Cetinje road, they called for a new tomorrow, which should show who from the people of Zeća and others is with them, and who, as they say, is with the occupiers.
The road from Podgorica over the Sitnica bridge to Cetinje was only accessible on foot from 15 pm to 18 pm today. Without officially reporting the gathering to the police, a group of Zeta citizens who oppose the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun blocked this road and the road in Vranjina, from Podgorica to Bar.
They reiterate that they are defending the right to healthy air and clean water and add that injustice has forced them onto the streets.
"We had an agreement with the police to verbally announce a gathering outside of some procedure, they came out to meet us. Today I also had a meeting with the chief of police in Zeta, who talked and emphasized that emergency services and fire departments must be allowed in. Various rumors, that we are some kind of rangers around here, that we are not letting anyone in. Every emergency, every life that was in danger or someone who was sick or an ambulance, everyone was allowed in," said Bojan Terzić, a resident of Zeta.
If, as they say, repression against the citizens of Zeta is initiated, they will organize new and larger blockades. The next one is announced for tomorrow at noon at the roundabout on the Cijevna River near the Podgorica airport.
"We hereby call on the entire Zeta, all the people who have something Zeta in them, to show up tomorrow and see how many of us there are and see how many people stand behind us. Because this is your future too. This is the future of these people on the left. This is what awaits the Farmaci and Kokoti and Grbavci. Where are you here with us? Do you know that this incinerator will destroy Podgorica and Zabjelo, not just you? Let's count tomorrow, let's see who is with us and who is with these occupiers," said Terzić.
He also used the blockade of the Sitnica bridge to send a message to certain local and state officials - Prime Minister of Montenegro Milojko Spajić, President of Montenegro Jakov Milatović, Mayor of Podgorica Saša Mujović, and Director of the Podgorica company "Water Supply and Sewerage" Aleksandar Nišavić.
"Here, Spajić, Milatović, Mujović and this Nišavić. We will build four houses for them in Botun. I invite them, but they must sign a 20-year agreement to live next to the incinerator. They will get a swimming pool, a house, a fence, and everything," said Terzić.
Yesterday, the police identified 18 people who will be prosecuted in accordance with the law for unregistered gatherings and blocking roads on the Nikšić - Cetinje road and in Bistrica. They said they questioned several people in order to shed light on the incident that occurred when a man in a white Audi tried to break through the blockade, damaging one of the vehicles blocking the intersection. The gathered residents of Zeta rushed towards his car and broke its windshield and rearview mirrors, allegedly angry because he had previously damaged their car with a hammer. A major clash was prevented by the police, who fined SK for blocking the railway in Bistrica, Zeta, on Thursday during a protest with an unregistered van.
