Montenegro is expecting a change in weather over the weekend, with rain in most parts of the country, while there will be conditions for snow in the north, meteorologist Dušan Pavićević announced on "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti.
Although the quantities are not expected to be as high as those at the beginning of the month, there is a possibility of river water levels rising.
"It is very likely that the amount of precipitation will be less than at the beginning of the month, but due to the melting of snow in the lower parts of the north and mountainous areas, the inflow into water systems may be similar. I expect the consequences to be less, but there may certainly be a rise in water levels and this should be paid attention to," he stressed.
He adds that the rainy season could last up to ten days, with triple-digit rainfall amounts in most of the country.
Commenting on announcements by some regional media outlets about a possible "Siberian winter" in February, Dušan said that there is no reason for concern for now.
"According to the current forecast materials from the European Center, which is the most reliable, there are no indications that February will be colder than average. On the contrary, it is expected to be within normal limits or even slightly warmer, but with a lot of precipitation," he said.
