The government has proposed amendments to the Law on the Legalization of Illegal Properties, which would lift the complete ban on the sale of illegal real estate, which, however, does not mean a return to the old situation when citizens could freely buy and sell them.
The changes will enable inheritances, court executions, and bankruptcies, which have blocked citizens, banks, and courts for months, and will allow businesses to operate in illegal facilities for another three years.
Critics warn that this is a partial correction of a mistake that has already produced serious consequences and an attempt by the state to put out a fire it itself started.
