While most pensioners are waiting to receive an increase of 70 to 2 euros, parliamentary parties have collected a total of almost 6 million euros this month.
The Ministry of Finance paid them a debt of nearly 4,5 million euros on February 2. This is the difference they are entitled to for the period from August to the end of December last year, because, in accordance with the amended Law on Financing Political Entities, the allocation for the work of parliamentary parties was increased from 0,5 to 0,8 percent of the current budget.
On February 5, parties were paid over one million and 87 thousand for regular work, and 67 and a half thousand for the work of women's bodies in parties, which is what they are entitled to for the past month.
This is shown in a document published by the Ministry of Finance.
The most money when added together is on all three bases – the ruling PES, which has the most MPs, received over 300 million, followed by the opposition DPS with over 930 thousand. They are followed by the New Serbian Democracy, which is richer by more than 570 thousand. The Democrats collected over 460 thousand, and the DNP, which left power, took close to 255 thousand. Smaller amounts than these were received by other parties that have fewer MPs in parliament.
