More than 10 Roma families in the Podgorica settlement of Konik have been ordered to vacate the buildings they live in at short notice. Among them are families with multiple children and household members with disabilities.
The Capital City says that the facilities are not under their jurisdiction and refers them to the Ministry of Social Welfare, Family Care and Demography.
Members of these families live in buildings that have been abandoned for years, and the local government and the Ministry of Social Welfare have still not provided a permanent solution for their accommodation.
The Institution of the Protector of Human Rights and Freedoms also became interested in the case.
