Deputy Mayor of Podgorica Boris Spalević said in the "Colors of Morning" program on Television Vijesti that the cleaning of the Mareza canal has already yielded results after heavy rainfall and that its passability is directly related to water quality.

"When the canal was closed at the Koman Bridge, the water had no outlet, it formed a lake and returned dirt to the source. Therefore, it is sound logic that the Mareza Canal will definitely affect the water quality of the source itself," he pointed out.

He said that flooding is possible, but that regular maintenance of the canal significantly reduces the risk, citing the example of the Mosorski stream, which, he says, has not had any overflows this year thanks to cleaning.

He described the situation in the area of water permits and wastewater treatment as particularly worrying, stating that "probably some 80 or 90 percent" of car washes do not have separators.

Speaking about the situation at FK "Budućnost", Spalević confirmed that banners appeared in front of his building this morning.

"Unfortunately, this morning, ugly banners appeared in front of my apartment, including 'Management Out' and personal banners," he pointed out.

When it comes to the "Varvari" fan group, he says that the management has offered cooperation, but that the club's management cannot be subject to pressure.

"As a club, we are ready to help if you need to go for transportation, to buy sandwiches. I am ready to go to cheer, but there is a certain group of people who are not comfortable with that, most likely because I initiated certain processes together with the executive director and I do not want to stop those processes, that is my legal obligation," he pointed out.

He expects the club to be "at positive zero" as early as February.
