Boiled Easter eggs can be considered safe for consumption for up to seven days, but only if they are stored in the refrigerator.
According to Dr. Enisa Kujundžić, a hygiene specialist, most people can eat one to two eggs a day without any problems. During Easter, it is not objectionable to eat three or four eggs, but only occasionally and not for several days in a row.
"Nothing significant will happen to us if we overeat for one or two days during the holidays, but the problem arises if such a diet lasts for an entire week. Then we can expect digestive problems, especially if eggs are combined with fatty foods," Dr. Kujundžić pointed out in "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti.
Speaking about proper storage, he emphasizes that boiled eggs should not be left at room temperature for more than two hours.
"Otherwise, microorganisms will multiply and can cause gastrointestinal problems, such as diarrhea and nausea," he warns.
