Food inspectors are starting to inspect the facilities where students will stay as part of the "School in Nature" program, in order to check whether all conditions for their safe stay have been met. Food inspector Vladimir Šaković said in "Boje jutra" on TV Vijesti that the hygiene of kitchens and accompanying rooms, the method of food preparation and storage, as well as the quality of drinking water are being checked. "We are particularly monitoring whether the prescribed temperatures and the so-called cold chain are being respected, which is key to food safety... When it comes to drinking water, it is in good condition in all facilities where children will stay," Šaković emphasized. According to him, the facilities that receive children are generally well prepared, and there have been no serious problems in previous years. Problems, he says, occur more often when children consume food purchased elsewhere. Therefore, it is recommended that students eat exclusively in hotels and facilities where they can.
