Economic growth of around three percent in Montenegro, estimated by the World Bank in its report, is not sufficient for a significant improvement in the living standards of citizens, economic analyst Mirza Muleskovic said in "Colors of Morning" on Vijesti Television.
"Our economy is growing, but not developing," he warns.
It indicates that high prices may jeopardize the upcoming tourist season, and that it is necessary to carefully balance the price-quality ratio, with greater cooperation between the state and the economy.
"The competition is much greater today than before. We have to offer more for the money we are asking for," says Mulešković.
Speaking about the country's tourism offer and promotion, Mulešković assessed that the announced Ricky Martin concert in Podgorica, on the occasion of the anniversary of the restoration of independence, as well as the EXIT festivals, could have multiple effects, from promoting the destination to direct tourist spending.
Recalling the period after the restoration of independence, Mulešković stated that previously, great world stars had played a significant role in positioning Montenegro as a tourist destination.
"20 years ago, we had concerts by the likes of Madonna and the Rolling Stones, which then contributed to putting Montenegro on the map for the international audience and showing it as a destination capable of hosting major events," he pointed out.
