Minister of Culture and Media Tamara Vujović said from Venice that Montenegro is present at the Venice Biennale with its own pavilion and authentic artistic expression, emphasizing the importance of continued participation and international visibility.
She pointed out in Boje jutra on Vijesti Television that the Montenegrin pavilion presents the work of Siniša Radulović, which combines digital and analog photographs and sound installations, and that contemporary art opens up topics of identity, freedom, and contemporary society in an innovative way.
Vujović said that culture is an important instrument for the international promotion of Montenegro and cultural diplomacy, announcing meetings with fellow ministers from other countries during the Biennial.
Commenting on the strike by part of the cultural trade union in Montenegro, she stated that the Ministry did not ignore the demands of employees and that it was ready for social dialogue, but that negotiations must include all representative trade unions and must be conducted through a legal procedure.
"Both representative unions must actively participate, and this is a prerequisite for even beginning negotiations on a sectoral collective agreement and opening a full and inclusive social dialogue. Therefore, we absolutely reject allegations that we have ignored anything, but we must ensure the representation of all, or rather the largest number of employees in the field of culture. So, that has been stated several times, so in that regard we remain absolutely open to improvement and social dialogue, but we must objectively inform the public," said Vujović.
