A Montenegrin citizen, a crew member of the MV Hondius cruise ship on which the deadly hantavirus appeared, is in quarantine in the Netherlands, after passengers were evacuated from the ship and enhanced health checks were carried out.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed Television Vijesti that, through the Montenegrin Embassy, they are in constant communication with a Montenegrin citizen, who arrived in the Netherlands from Spain late last night via organized transport.
As they said, she is currently in quarantine at a hotel in Eindhoven, where she was tested. She is not allowed to leave her accommodation until the prescribed measures are completed.
The ministry states that the Montenegrin citizen was offered all necessary consular assistance and support.
There is currently no official information on whether the crew members will be repatriated to their home countries or will return to the ship, where complete disinfection will be carried out.
