One step forward towards Brussels, then two steps back towards initiating new divisions in Montenegro – and this is because of the topics raised in the previous two days.
After unofficial information, the President of the Municipality of Pljevlja, Dario Vraneš, officially confirmed to Television Vijesti that Baja Mali Knindža, who sings ultranationalist songs, will perform in Pljevlja until the end of May.
Whether it will be for Montenegro's Independence Day, as is being speculated, is not yet known, because, he says, they are still negotiating the date.
While the storm is rising over this, neither the government nor the opposition wants to deal with the initiative to annul the decision to recognize Kosovo, announced by the leader of the Democratic People's Party (DNP), Milan Knežević.
Vranes, the first man of Pljevlja, confirmed to Television Vijesti that the performer of ultranationalist and chauvinist songs Mirko Pajčin, better known as Baja Mali Knindža, will sing in the northernmost Montenegrin municipality. Whether it will be on the national holiday of May 21st, as is being speculated, is unknown, as negotiations are ongoing, but Vranes says it will happen by the end of this month.
While some of the ruling party's deputies in the Montenegrin parliament are commenting curtly on this announcement and the possibility of Baja Mali Knindža singing on Independence Day, the opposition has no dilemma about what the performance of a singer of this profile would mean for Montenegro.
