Podgorica will soon receive a modern and functional sports complex under the Ljubović hill, after the city's chief architect's office approved the conceptual design for the reconstruction of the Ljubović Shooting Center.
As Luka Perić from the Agency for Construction and Development of Podgorica told Boje jutra, the development of the main project is underway, and its completion is expected at the end of July.
"At this point, we have a completed conceptual design and a few days ago we received approval from the chief city architect, which allowed the project to proceed at an accelerated pace towards the development of the main design. The contract has been signed, and the value of the contract is around 165.000 euros including VAT," said Perić.
After the development of the main project, the review process and obtaining the necessary permits will follow, after which a tender will be announced for the selection of a contractor. According to current estimates, the conditions for the start of the reconstruction could be created at the end of this year or the beginning of next year.
The conceptual design envisages a complete reconstruction of the existing facility. The new Ljubović Sports Center will have a multifunctional hall adapted for several sports, including basketball, volleyball, handball, athletics and sport climbing. The hall will have mobile stands that will allow the space to be adapted to different needs and events.
The project also includes the construction of a modern shooting range that will meet all applicable standards, as well as additional facilities such as a gym and fitness center.
Perić points out that the new complex will significantly improve the conditions for practicing sports, not only for the residents of Zabjelo but also for the citizens of the entire Podgorica.
Although it is not yet possible to specify the completion date, it is expected that the largest part of the facility could be completed during 2027.
