Trial of Duško Golubović begins in case in which he is charged with cigarette smuggling

The trial began today with the presentation of the defense of former police officer Duško Golubović in the case in which the Special Prosecutor's Office charges him with forming a criminal group that allegedly engaged in cigarette smuggling.

Golubović claimed in court that he fabricated part of the statement he gave to the prosecution last year in the hope that it would help him get out of detention, claiming that he was in a difficult mental state at the time.

He denied guilt and said that he left behind a career without a single stain.
