Adžić: We will not participate in the fight for seats in Podgorica, the government is too concerned with functions and too little with the problems of citizens

Civic Movement URA official Filip Adžić announced that the party will not participate in negotiations on the distribution of functions in Podgorica, assessing that the ruling majority is too concerned with political positions and too little with the problems of citizens.

As he told TV Vijesti's Boje jutra, URA will not support solutions that are part of, as he stated, a "fight for seats", recalling that the party had previously proposed Luka Rakčević for mayor with a clear program for the development of Podgorica.

"At this moment, we will not participate in this fight for positions. We believe that the problems of citizens are being put on the back burner, while political entities are busy distributing positions," said Adžić.

Speaking about the platform offered by the opposition to the authorities, Adžić said that URA supports every proposal that is in the interest of citizens, regardless of who it comes from, but that the party has long been advocating its own platform "Montenegro 365", focused on increasing salaries and pensions, resolving housing issues and fighting high prices.

He assessed that Montenegro's European path is only possible with an agreement between the government and the opposition, stating that the greatest responsibility for achieving consensus lies with the ruling majority.

Adžić also addressed the threats made to journalist Jelena Jovanović, assessing that people who investigate organized crime and corruption are often targets of criminal groups, and that institutions must react more strongly to protect journalists and other public officials.
