Spajić: We are fully committed to social dialogue, we have excellent cooperation with trade unions and the Employers' Union

Prime Minister Milojko Spajić rejected accusations that the Government is obstructing social dialogue.

"We are fully committed to social dialogue. I think that for the first time since Montenegro became an independent state, in the last five years since I have been the Minister of Finance and since I have been the Prime Minister, we have excellent cooperation with both the trade unions and the Employers' Union. For the first time in history, a major decision, such as Europe Now 1, was made by all of us together, without any outvoting. Europe Now 2, as you know, was supported by trade unions and employers. We are working on many other reforms together, so we are here and I am convinced that we will continue to work together in the future," said Spajić today in Perast, where he participated in an underwater clean-up campaign in the Bay of Kotor, together with European Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, as part of the national environmental campaign "Take care, let it take care of you".

The Union of Free Trade Unions (USSCG) announced earlier today that the Government has been playing with social dialogue for months and because of the way this process is being faked and until such behavior by the Government changes, it will no longer participate in the work of the Social Council.

They said that they do not want to give power to form, but rather want to build an efficient and constructive social dialogue, based on mutual respect and equality between social partners and the Government.
