The President of the Tivat Municipal Assembly, Miljan Marković, said in "Colors of Morning" on TV Vijesti that the political crisis in the city is not the result of personal conflicts, but rather disagreements over the method of governance and protection of the public interest.
After the announcement of a boycott of the sessions of the councilors of the "People Wins" list, the question of the stability of local government and its further functioning has been raised. Marković claims that the institutions are still working, but warns that the Assembly must be a place for discussion and control of the executive branch.
"Institutions are functioning, the Assembly is functioning, projects are being completed. It is very important to me that everyone has the opportunity to speak, precisely because I am dissatisfied with that totalitarian regime and I do not want us to live in such an environment," said Marković.
He rejected accusations that individuals were acting out of personal interests, stating that these were political positions and responsibilities towards citizens. Speaking about his relations with the mayor, Željko Komnenović, he said that there had been serious disagreements, including an incident at a meeting, but stressed that there had been no physical contact.
