Kumburović: Angio Hall in Kotor by the end of the year, investment worth more than three million euros underway

The Kotor Clinical Hospital Center is going through one of the largest investment cycles in the last few years, and among the most significant projects are the construction of the first angio room on the Montenegrin coast, the reconstruction of the Internal Medicine Department, the purchase of CT and MRI machines, as well as the planned construction of a new hospital wing.

The Director of the Kotor Clinical Hospital Center, Dr. Davor Kumburović, said in Boje jutra, on TV Vijesti, that this health institution is currently implementing two major projects, despite which the hospital continues to provide health services without interruption.

"The Clinical Hospital Center currently looks like a large construction site, but in a positive sense. We are implementing two independent projects, the most financially significant of which is the complete adaptation and reconstruction of the Internal Medicine Department," said Kumburović.

He thanked the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Health and the local government for their support in the implementation of the investment, particularly emphasizing the contribution of the Ministry of Public Works in ensuring the financial structure of the project.

He particularly emphasized the construction of an angio room, which will be available to patients in this part of Montenegro for the first time.

"This is a pioneering project, because so far there has been no angio room on the coast. We expect it to be ready by the end of September or the beginning of October, and it will certainly be in operation by the end of the year," said Kumburović.

As he explained, its opening will significantly reduce the number of patients referred to the Clinical Center of Montenegro in Podgorica due to cardiovascular diseases.

Works on the reconstruction of the Internal Affairs Department began about fifteen days ago, and it is an investment worth more than three million euros.

"The works are planned to last ten months. After completion, patients and medical staff will have significantly better conditions for treatment and work," said the director of the Kotor Clinical Hospital.

Kumburović announced that the procurement of CT machines and magnetic resonance imaging are planned in the 2027 budget.

"I hope that this plan will be realized, because KBC Kotor will then fully justify its status as a clinical hospital center," Kumburović emphasized.

Speaking about waiting lists, he pointed out that they are among the shortest in the healthcare system.

"The longest wait is two to three months, mainly for certain cardiological procedures. I think that's a very good result," said Kumburović.

He added that during the summer tourist season, the emergency center treats more than 40 patients per day, but that the hospital, despite the increased workload and construction, manages to meet all demands.
