Bešović: The situation at the fire site near Herceg Novi is much more stable, the situation may change due to the wind

The situation at the large fire area above Bijela and Baošić near Herceg Novi is much more stable this morning, but authorities are warning that the situation may change due to the wind.

Miodrag Bešović from the Ministry of Interior's Directorate for Protection and Rescue said on "Colors of Morning" that no lives were endangered during the fire, but that individual houses were evacuated as a precaution and all endangered buildings were defended.

Teams from Kotor, Tivat, Cetinje and Trebinje, as well as volunteer fire departments from Boka Bay, are on the scene.

Three aircraft participated in extinguishing the fire yesterday, dropping a total of 128 tons of water, and this morning helicopters from the Army of Montenegro were also deployed. Bešović stated that the fire broke out in an inaccessible area and spread incredibly quickly.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and the circumstances are being investigated. Several other fires are currently active in Montenegro, but most are localized.
