The higher state prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances of the pregnant woman's death Light Tafa from Ulcinj, and the case was formed ex officio, after learning about the event from the media, it was confirmed by "News" in the institution he manages Beautiful Medenica.
The editors were also told that an order was issued to the police to collect information. The deceased patient's husband, Arben Tafa He told "Vijesta" yesterday that he gave a statement to the police regarding the death of his wife.
"What can I tell you, a disaster... I am seeking responsibility for the actions of the doctors at the hospital in Bar, where the first mistake was made after giving birth, after which my wife was urgently transported to the Clinical Center of Montenegro. They saved her life there, she came home and tried to return to a normal life. But that first mistake in the hospital in Bar turned out to be fatal," said Tafa to "Vijesta". He claims that "recently three women from the hospital in Bar have been sent to KCG for further treatment".
"Whether it's a coincidence or not, I don't know. I don't want to get into other cases, I wish everyone well, but I'm interested in my case when I was left without a wife and children without a mother. Someone at the hospital in Bar apparently made an oversight and a mistake. Let it be determined who and in what way", Tafa said and thanked everyone who expressed condolences in any way.
They will look for those responsible in Bar and Podgorica
Director of the Bar hospital Igor Karisik yesterday he did not answer the calls of "Vijesti", while he is the Minister of Health Vojislav Šimun at the press conference said that they are taking measures to establish the responsibility of everyone who participated in the process of treating the deceased patient.
He said that a health and sanitary inspection was sent to the hospital in Bar and that operative teams were formed to investigate the case.
"In addition, the Ministry of Health will undertake a detailed independent investigation in order to determine all the circumstances of the treatment, we will also form an external commission that will be composed of experts and from regional health centers, in order to precisely locate the responsibility for both the birth process, surgery and post-operative care ", said Simun.
The minister clarified that the patient's delivery was on September 13 in the hospital in Bar, by caesarean section, and that there was a surgical complication that was recognized the next day, and that she was then treated at the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) until September 25. He explained that after her discharge, a routine procedure was scheduled for further urological treatment, and that on October 30, she was readmitted to KCCG, the day after the procedure.
"We assure the family and the entire public that all those responsible will be prosecuted," said Šimun.
Director of KCCG Aleksandar Radovic he said that the patient from Bar was brought to that institution due to the suspicion that there was a ureteral ligation, which was noted by the urologist, so in consultation with the interventional radiologist, a probe was installed to prevent kidney failure.
He explained that after nine days the patient was allowed to go home and that the probe was placed over the skin until the patient's condition improved. He explained that, according to the agreement, she was admitted again to KCCG, complete analyzes and imaging were done, and the temporary one was removed, and a probe was inserted into the body.
Radović said that the scans on Friday showed that the probe was working, but the patient's condition worsened, and a scanner scan was also performed, which showed that there was no contrast leakage and that anatomically everything was fine.
"The patient was transferred to intensive care, resuscitation was started, but she died. We launched an internal commission that should establish why there was a fatal outcome in such a short period of time," said Radović.
Šimun said yesterday that he expects the forensic autopsy to show what caused the patient's death, while Radović announced that the doctor on duty ordered an autopsy, which the family refused.
Aljošević is recovering in KCCG
At the press conference at the Ministry of Health, the case of patient AA, also from Ulcinj, was discussed, who after giving birth by caesarean section in the hospital in Bar on September 10, was transferred to KCCG due to complications.
lamb Asmira Aljošević (26) gave birth on September 10 in a hospital in Bar by caesarean section. After profuse bleeding after childbirth, which was at noon, around 19:XNUMX p.m. in the evening, she was urgently transferred to the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), where she was operated on and her ovaries and uterus were removed.
Since then, she has been in intensive care at KCCG, for 55 days and she did not have the opportunity to see her child for the same amount of time, because until recently "the devices worked for her", as her mother told "Vijesti" Beauty Lukolić.
"They said that there were not enough platelets (in the hospital in Bar), so she was transferred to the gynecology department for another three or four hours, she bled there, and then the nurse from the gynecology department called the anesthesiology doctor and told her what was going on, after which she urged her to go under knife so she wouldn't get sepsis, because she turned yellow all over," Lukolić said.
Around 11 o'clock in the evening, she was operated on at KCCG, claims her mother, and her family came to see her in the morning, and then they were told that Aljošević was in a critical condition, that her life was in danger and that none of her organs were working.
"I saw her shortly before the operation, the third operation at 12 noon. My child was in a coma for 22 days and has been in intensive care for 55 days. None of her organs were working because they survived the damage. She lost a lot of blood, they told me that it was four liters," said Lukolić.
She said that they still don't know and don't understand why Asmira had to have two operations in addition to the caesarean section that removed her ovaries and uterus. All they know, she stressed, is that something was done wrong in the hospital in Bar, that they created a problem for her daughter there, and in KCCG they saved her life.
The only explanation they got, she claims, was that they had to do it because she was bleeding too much.
"Some big mistake was made. Somehow they hurt her in the Bar. We still don't have the paperwork and all I know is that my child was in a coma for almost a month," Asmira's mother emphasized.
Lukolić was outraged by the treatment of the Bar hospital. She claims that they "mutilated her child" and that she will seek justice in court as soon as her daughter recovers.
Yesterday, Radović, commenting on this case, said that AA had increased bleeding and that the KCCG gynecologists received her urgently, and that it was not surgical bleeding, but coagulopathy.
"A reintervention was performed and the ovaries were removed. The patient received a very large number of blood transfusions, kidney and lung function was impaired, but now she is in the recovery phase and we are weaning her from the breathing machine," said Radović.
Šimun, answering the questions, said that in gynecology postpartum bleeding is common in the case of caesarean section, while in the case of the deceased patient, it is a potential injury to the ureter in connection with surgical work.
Protest "I don't want to be next"
Due to the death of the mother Drita Taf and the serious health condition of AA, non-governmental organizations from Ulcinj decided to organize a protest in front of the Health Center in that city on Thursday, November 7, under the name "I don't want to be next".
It was announced that the goal of the protest is for the public to learn the truth, to determine the cause of Drita's death, and to appeal to the authorities to ensure that the women of Ulcinj receive proper and responsible health care.
No one is responsible for Alović's death
Drita's tragic death opened old wounds when another woman in labor from Ulcinj, Naida Alović, passed away a few hours after giving birth on the operating table in KCCG, on the night between May 1 and 2, 2018.
Alović was hospitalized at the Clinical Center a few days before the birth, which, as the girl's uncle Rifat Đeljošaj told "Vijesta" at the time, was successful.
"Vijesti" then, referring to the official statements of the doctors, announced that the late Alović's pregnancy was proceeding normally until six days before her death, when she complained to the gynecologist at the Ulcinj maternity hospital about pain in the bottom of her stomach.
She was also examined due to the low amount of amniotic fluid confirmed by ultrasound and possible premature birth, she was sent to the hospital in Bar, and then transferred to Podgorica. She gave birth more than a month before her due date. Complicated surgery after childbirth failed. The investigation in this case at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office lasted two and a half years, but there was no evidence that anyone was responsible for her death.
