Igor Nedović, a resident of Podgorica, succumbed to his injuries at the Clinical Center (KCCG) in Podgorica after being previously wounded by gunfire in Stara Varoš, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
"As we previously informed the public, today at around 13.30:XNUMX p.m. in the Podgorica neighborhood of Stara Varoš, on Gojka Radonjića Street, near the IN family house, a firearm was used, causing this person to suffer serious bodily injuries. After receiving medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at the Clinical Center of Montenegro," the UP statement said.
The Police Department also said that officers from the Regional Security Center "Centar" and the Crime Prevention Sector, with the active support of other organizational units of the Police Department, and in coordination with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, are undertaking investigative measures and actions to shed light on this criminal offense, identify and locate the perpetrator.
"Taking into account the fact that this is a serious and complex criminal offense, we ask for the public's understanding when it comes to reporting on it, while officers of the Police Directorate, after the initial measures of reviewing all relevant facts, conducting an on-site investigation and other measures and actions, will, to the extent possible, inform the public about the new circumstances and the progress of the investigation," the UP said in a statement.

He sustained serious bodily injuries on this occasion and is receiving medical assistance. Police officers from the Regional Security Center 'Centar', the Podgorica Security Department, as well as the Crime Prevention Sector, with the support of tactical units, and in coordination with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, are conducting urgent intensive activities in order to determine all the facts and circumstances of this event, identify, locate and prosecute the perpetrator," the UP stated in an earlier statement.

As the UP said at the time, the on-site investigation is ongoing and is being led by the senior state prosecutor, and the public will be informed in phases about the further course of activities.
Nedović was wounded in a shooting in a bar in the City Quarter neighborhood in May of this year. Three days after the shooting, the police announced that they had solved the attempted murder of Nedović, and that the suspects are Tarik Muminović (21) and Arjan Rečković (22).
According to police data, Nedović is close to the Kavača criminal clan.
Senior State Prosecutor Jelena Protić told reporters, after conducting an on-site investigation, that video surveillance is being excluded.
"I went to the scene and conducted an on-site investigation with officers from the Podgorica Police Department and crime scene technicians, where we seized certain traces that we found at the scene, which will be sent for certain expert examinations, after which we will have a clearer picture of the event itself. What I can tell you is that there is a large number of video surveillance that are currently being seized, and due to the further course of the investigation and the protection of the data itself, I cannot provide you with any further information about the event at this time," Senior State Prosecutor Jelena Protić told reporters.
