Police in Kotor found more than four kilograms of cocaine in the possession of an alleged associate of the Skaljari criminal clan, Vijesti learned from several unofficial sources.
According to unofficial information from Vijesti, the drugs were found on 34-year-old Jovan Krivokapić.
A statement from the Police Directorate officially confirmed the information published by Vijesti earlier today that cocaine was seized in Kotor.
They state that Kotor police officers, in cooperation with the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, "as part of comprehensive activities aimed at detecting and prosecuting criminal offenses, and acting on operational information, deprived a person close to an organized criminal group - JK (33) - of his liberty in Kotor, in whose possession a large quantity of cocaine and a gun were found."
"Namely, police officers found a 'Tanfoglio' pistol in illegal possession and about 4,5 kilograms of cocaine, which is suspected to have been intended for further street sale, in an apartment in Kotor. After collecting the necessary information, JK was deprived of his liberty by order of the Senior State Prosecutor at the State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs, the criminal offense of unauthorized possession and carrying of weapons and explosives, and the criminal offense of domestic or family violence.
The suspect will be brought to the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica for further investigation within the legal deadline, along with a criminal complaint. Police officers continue to intensively identify persons carrying out criminal activities, with a priority focus on discovering and dismantling street drug distribution networks at the local and regional levels, as well as combating criminal offenses with elements of violence," the police statement said.
