Officers of the Bar Police Station of the Security Department conducted an intensified traffic safety control, with an emphasis on controlling members of organized crime groups (OKG) and persons of operational interest, during which six people were deprived of their liberty, one of whom was Martin Janković, a member of the OKG, the Police Directorate announced.
Janković is considered a member of the "Skaljar clan".
Police said that an OKG member was sentenced to 20 days in prison for driving under the influence of psychoactive substances.
"Police officers stopped MJ, a member of the OKG, for a check. The check determined that MJ did not have a driver's license, a traffic license, or an ID card, and that he was not wearing a seat belt and that he had made an improper stop. A psychoactive substance test determined that MJ tested positive for cocaine, benzodiazepines, and opiates. He was sanctioned for a violation under the Identity Card Act and five violations under the Road Traffic Safety Act (ZOBS). MJ was arrested for driving under the influence of PAS (psychoactive substances) and was brought to the Misdemeanor Court, where the judge sentenced him to 20 days in prison. In addition, traffic police officers arrested five more people – IS, E. Š., E. Č., M. Ć., and DA, three of whom tested positive for PAS, while one person refused a PAS test and one committed a violation under the ZOBS," the police statement reads.
The police announced that they will continue to control, sanction, and detain members of OKG and OIL (operationally interesting persons), as well as to take repressive police measures and actions related to ensuring respect for the law in all areas of police work.
