Miloš Rakočević (30), a citizen of Montenegro, was arrested on January 23 in the Netherlands, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.
The statement states that the NCB Interpol Podgorica has issued a red international arrest warrant for Rakočević to serve a two-year prison sentence to which he was sentenced for drug trafficking.
"On January 23, after several months of intensive cooperation and precise exchange of information between the Targeted Search Team of Montenegro and the Security Department of Podgorica, with the partner service of the Netherlands, an internationally wanted person from Montenegro was located and deprived of his liberty in the Netherlands. Namely, MR (30), a citizen of Montenegro for whom the NCB Interpol Podgorica issued a red international arrest warrant in order to serve a two-year prison sentence to which he was sentenced by a final verdict of the Higher Court in Podgorica, was deprived of his liberty. He was sentenced to the aforementioned prison sentence for the criminal offense of unauthorized production, possession and distribution of narcotic drugs," the statement reads.
The Police Department said that further communication is underway between the Interpol NCB Podgorica and the Interpol NCB The Hague.
