Police Directorate: 232 initiatives to terminate the stay of foreigners were submitted in January

Border police officers in Montenegro implemented 1.214 measures in January aimed at controlling the movement, residence and work of foreign citizens, within which 150 decisions were made on the return of persons and 111 on the cancellation of residence for up to 90 days.

The Police Directorate said that during January, inspectors for foreigners carried out 25 independent actions of increased control of the entry, movement, residence and work of foreign citizens in Montenegro, while 34 actions were carried out in cooperation with the competent inspection services.

The police said that 232 initiatives to terminate temporary residence were submitted, while five decisions on more lenient measures were issued.

As they stated, the total number of misdemeanor reports filed and misdemeanor warrants issued to foreign citizens in January was 667.

"During the same period, six foreign citizens were placed in the Reception Center for Foreigners, and in accordance with agreements on the return and acceptance of persons whose entry or residence is illegal, 13 foreign citizens were handed over to neighboring countries in a summary procedure," the statement said.
