Podgorica police arrested MR (42) on suspicion of attempted murder and IM (41) on suspicion of violent behavior, the Police Directorate (UP) announced.
As stated in the statement, it is suspected that on May 14, 2026, in the evening, in the parking lot on II Montenegrin Battalion Street in Podgorica, a physical conflict occurred between several people, on which occasion IM is suspected of physically attacking a female person, striking her several times in the head, as a result of which the injured party fell to the asphalt surface and sustained physical injuries.
"After that, it is suspected that MR and IM physically attacked another male person, punching and kicking him several times in the body. During the attack, MR allegedly stabbed the victim in the back with a sharp blade, while IM knocked the victim to the asphalt, after which the suspects fled," the statement said.
The injured party, the UP added, suffered physical injuries as a result of the attack, as confirmed in a report by a specialist doctor.
"By undertaking intensive operational-tactical and reconnaissance measures and actions to shed light on the events, police officers identified the participants, located them and, after collecting information, on the order of the acting state prosecutor, deprived them of their liberty," it concludes.
