Hotel "Podgorica" ​​director and security guard arrested, suspected of obstructing a police officer: Cocaine found?

The director of the "Podgorica" ​​hotel, Bojan Madžgalj, and the security staff of the FG hotel were arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer by not allowing him to enter to carry out a planned official action, the Police Directorate (UP) announced today.

The statement states that police officers, carrying out planned preventive activities aimed at suppressing all forms of crime, finding and seizing illegal substances and other objects, as well as detecting and preventing the commission of criminal acts and misdemeanors, last night from 11:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., conducted an operational-tactical measure and action "Raid" in Podgorica, through which they conducted a control, inspection and verification of persons, as well as an inspection of a catering facility operating within a hotel.

"On that occasion, two people were deprived of their liberty, and the narcotic drug cocaine was also found. A detailed inspection of the catering facility found one package containing cocaine, weighing approximately 18 grams. In order to determine all facts and circumstances, police officers are taking intensive measures and actions to identify the person to whom the narcotic drug found belongs, or the person who can be linked to its possession," the statement said.

The UP added that the state prosecutor on duty at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica has been informed of the event, and that, after implementing additional measures and actions, collecting information and determining all relevant facts, he will make a statement on the legal qualification of the event.

"Due to suspicion that they committed a violation under Article 11 of the Law on Public Order - obstructing an official of a state body, or a person exercising public authority in connection with the performance of tasks within their jurisdiction - the following employees working in hotel security FG (42) and the director of the hotel BM (39) were deprived of their liberty. They are suspected of having, while performing official duties at the entrance to the hotel, obstructed a police officer in the performance of official duties, by not allowing him to enter to carry out the planned official duty," the UP statement reads.
