Parents of children who go to the kindergarten "Zvjezdica" in Nikšić, located in Rastoci, showed how they can help the kindergarten where their children stay by joining forces. They came up with a yard improvement project called "Communities together", which was supported by the Fund for Active Citizenship, as well as socially responsible partners in the community: "Krnovo Green Energy", the NGO "Alfa Centar" and the toy store "Lucky Toys".
Thanks to the parents, the yard of the mentioned kindergarten is richer for three benches, two waste baskets, a double see-saw, a nest swing with construction, two standard swings, a fixed x-ox game, seedlings, flowers and paint to freshen up the old furniture.
And while the parents were painting the old furniture, the little ones were planting flowers with the teachers. They also helped Ana Petrović Njegoš from NVU "Paths of the Ancestors", who donated five seedlings, to plant them together, and then they listened to Ana's lecture on the importance of greening public areas. Academic painter Milena Krivokapić from the Art Center also joined the action, who painted a wooden frame for the sandbox.
"We wanted to use our knowledge and skills to improve the conditions of the children's stay in the kindergarten and additionally decorate the yard. The action is a good example of community mobilization on the ground and an indicator of how much everyone's contribution in such actions means", said the parent representative, Nada Jaredić, and thanked everyone who supported their action, as well as the administration of the Dragan Kovačević Public School and the Zvjezdica kindergarten. " on cooperation.
The director of the Dragan Kovačević Public Prosecutor's Office, Snežana Zogović, pointed out that one of the important segments of their work is cooperation with the family and that it is continuously at a good level.
"Parents are happy to join all our actions. I am especially delighted that this is an initiative by parents. "They saw that this yard, which is big and beautiful, needs to be additionally arranged, they made efforts, joined together with educators, and the result of everything is this action," said Zogović.
She added that parents often donate furniture and seedlings to kindergartens, but that this is the first action that has been organized on such a scale.
