On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe, the German Ambassador to Montenegro, Peter Felten, together with the President of the Federation of Associations of NOR Fighters and Anti-Fascists of Montenegro, Zuvdija Hodžić, and two vice presidents, Stevan Radunović and Milojica Dakić, laid wreaths today at the monument to the Partisan Fighter on Gorica Hill in Podgorica.
This paid tribute to those who died in World War II, and especially to the victims in Montenegro.
"Germany is aware of its historical responsibility for the horrors of World War II, the Holocaust and the terror of National Socialism. The anniversary marks the end of a devastating war of aggression launched from German soil and the liberation of Germany and Europe from a criminal regime. It also represents hope for peace and reconciliation and for a united, prosperous Europe dedicated to the dignity of the individual, the protection of human rights and the preservation of democracy and the rule of law," the German embassy said in a statement.
