The blockades have ended for today, and tomorrow (Sunday, January 18) at noon, the people of Botunja are announcing new ones, RTCG reports.
Residents of Botun and Zeta protested today against the construction of a wastewater treatment plant, and blockades were organized on the Sitnica bridge, towards Cetinje, and at the "Jezero" restaurant in Vranjina. They lasted from 15 to 18 p.m.
The blockade at the "Jezero" restaurant was also attended by the Mayor of Zeta, Mihailo Asanović.
As RTCG reporters previously reported, traffic was completely suspended.
The organizers of the blockade on the bridge to Sitnica, however, let the bus go to Igalo. As reported by an RTCG reporter, one of the passengers had health problems, which is why they decided to let the bus go.
Some vehicles were also allowed to pass near the "Jezero" restaurant, and participants in the blockade also set fire, the RTCG portal reports.
The media outlet also states that participants in the blockade at the "Jezero" restaurant returned the vehicle of a citizen who tried to pass, and that there were no serious incidents.
For the past three days, the people of Zeća have blocked the roundabouts in Zabjelo, Donja Gorica and towards Nikšić and Cetinje, as well as the Podgorica-Bar road in the town of Bistrice, dissatisfied with the construction of a wastewater treatment plant in Botun.
Yesterday, the police identified 18 people who will be prosecuted in accordance with the law for unregistered gatherings and blocking roads on the Nikšić-Cetinje road and in Bistrica.
Also, after verbal and physical contact at the roundabout in Gorna Gorica, they detained several people in order to collect information and shed light on the incident.
