Residents of the Podgorica settlement of Park Šuma Zagorič continued to block the roundabout in the Podgorica settlement of Zlatica, at the entrance to the highway, today.
"Traffic has been restored at the roundabout in front of the highway entrance, which was closed due to citizen protests," the Police Directorate announced.
The protest began at 15 p.m. and lasted less than an hour.
They are protesting because of, as they say, the high interest rates the state has charged them for paying for state-owned plots of land on which they built houses about 20 years ago.
They are requesting that the court costs and interest that were imposed on them in the land restitution proceedings, as they previously stated, be waived.
They are also demanding a review of the decisions that returned the land to private ownership, stressing that they believe the procedure was unfair to the current users of those plots.
