The RTCG employees' union called on the media company's general director, Boris Raonic, to "abandon his trip to the Winter Olympics" and to give up his position to "one of his colleagues who are presenters of the program."
The Employees' Union called on Raonic to dedicate himself to the processes that, as they stated, he has been obstructing for almost a year - the signing of the Collective Agreement and the increase in salaries for RTCG workers.
"For almost a year, the Director General of RTCG, Boris Raonić, has been avoiding and obstructing negotiations on increasing employee salaries, while his priority remains, among other things, frequent travel, rather than legal and professional obligations towards workers and the institution he leads," the statement reads.
They add that they know that Raonic loves sports and that he took advantage of his directorial position and the benefits of TV rights holders to, partly at the expense of the company and the citizens of Montenegro, visit the Olympic Games in Paris, the World Cup in Qatar, the European Football Championship final in Berlin, and travel to several attractive away games for the national football team, as a tourist and without any interest from the media company.
"If you had been guided by the interests of RTCG, and not by your personal style, instead of you and your companions from management, a larger team from our company would have gone to those major sporting events. There would have been a place for another talented and hard-working journalist, cameraman, editor, producer, producer or director of sports broadcasts, who deserve to be there. Since we have received information that you are planning to travel to the Winter Olympics, we kindly appeal to you to give up the trip and leave that place to one of your colleagues who are in charge of the program and dedicate yourself to the processes that you have been obstructing for almost a year - the signing of the Collective Agreement and the increase in salaries for RTCG workers. And we will talk about your trips to Eurovision another time," the statement of the RTCG Employees' Union reads.
